Basal cell adenoma
Salivary Gland
Haematoxylin & Eosin (H&E)
78 years
Unclear tumor of the tonsillar space.
The tumor is composed of basaloid cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm. The nuclei are oval to round and inconspicuous. The palisading of cells at the periphery of the tumor cell nests is typical and helps in differential diagnosis. The tumor islands are separated by stands of hyaline material.
