79 years old man with mediastinal tumors.
Admixture of lymphocytes, plasma cells, epitheloid tumor cells and histiocytes. Atypical, sometimes multinucleated tumor cells (Reed Sternberg like)
Focal positivity for Cytokeratin 7 and Calretinin. CD15 may be positive in some giant tumor cells. No expression of Vimentin in this tumor (may be focally positive).
Rare tumor. Differential diagnosis to lymphomas and thymomas may be difficult. Important for diagnosis is the presence of cytokeratin and calretinin positive cells.
