Peritrabecular and diffuse infiltration by a follicular lymphoma (infiltration volume 80%).
Bone Marrow
Haematoxylin & Eosin (H&E)
43 years
43-year old male patient with a known follicular lymphoma.
Hypercellular bone marrow (90%) showing a diffuse and peritrabecular infiltration of mature small lymphoid cells. At higher magnification one can appreciate that the lymphoid infiltrates are composed of small and cleaved centrocyte-like as well as more blastoid appearing centroblast-like cells.
The lymphoid cells stained positive for CD20, CD10 and bcl-6, as well as bcl-2. CD5 and CD23 were both negative.
