Haematoxylin & Eosin (H&E)
32 years
Chronic progressive myopathia (neuropathia).
Muscle biopsy with fibre caliber variation because of perifascicular atrophy. Increase of endomysial connective tissue as a sign of chonic damage. Focal presence of vacant fatty tissue. Perimysial and perivascular lymphocytic infiltation (mixed B- and T-cells (CD4 and CD8)). Upregulation of MHC-class-1 on almost all fibres. Rare myophagia and necrotic fibres as well as regenerating fibres and fibres with centralized nuclei.
