Polymyositis, Inclusionbody Myositis? Had Polio with tetraparesis as a 6 year old child.
Skelettal muscle biopsy with complex myopathic changes of chronic nature. Increased variability of fibre caliber with many usually single partially atrophic fibres. Increase of endomysial connective tissue and increase of vacant fatty tissue. Focal endomysial lymphocytic Infiltration with fibre attacks of non necrotic fibres. Immunohistochemical predominance of T-Cells (CD4=CD8) over B-Cells. Presence of muscle fibres with rimmed vacuoles.
